Meanwhile, back in PL4, I could push the lens sharpening even further, then add micro contrast boost, and as necessary turn up the DeepPRIME to yield a stunning image. The difference was like viewing an image at half the resolution. I then spent about 15 minutes with ON1 using whatever tools I could find, trying to match the PL4 output and could not get anywhere close with unsharp masks and clarity and whatever other stuff they had. Even though it was not a noisy image, I find a modest amount of DeepPRIME removes the pixel-peepers-only noise that is in fact present and in combination with the lens profiles yields a sharper result - something I am almost always striving for. I took a typical image of mine as a test image and gave it the default DeepPRIME treatment. I’ve said on here before I liked the general UI/UX of ON1 but their processing of my RAW files leaves a lot to be desired. They also claim ON1 itself is the best RAW processor but again, nope. I find all their marketing around NoNoise to be like this. “Industry-leading” is a very advert statement, and certainly one with which many might take exception. I suspect that this would require extensive “retraining” of the AI that DxO has implemented, and thus may not be feasible from a short-term business case. Only the true raw are accepted by the current Prime and DeepPRIME – at some point I hope that DxO will offer a mode of DeepPRIME that works with de-mosaiced image files. Note that DNG files come in two forms, true “raw” and de-mosaiced (“de-Bayered”). However, since it only works with raw files, it cannot handle images that are under-exposed. If the image is quite under (or over) exposed (using the channel histograms as the estimator), one often must invest much work making manual adjustments, and in most cases, the yield of “keepers” is not worth (in possible client compensation) the effort. However, since it only works with raw files, it cannot handle images that are under-exposed.Īssuming that your camera system provides a true raw (not de-mosaiced) file that PL4Elite (DeepPRIME) supports, I have had no issue with under-exposed images, being capable of doing much more than I could with wet chemistry imaging (film and paper push, pull, dodge, burn). This first version of On1 No Noise is a bit buggy and not fully refined but it shows a lot of potential which may be attained in future upgrades. No Noise’s main defects were smearing and a greater sense of a plastic look when over applied. When comparing ON1 to DeepPRIME, l found DeepPRIME to be superior to ON1 NoNoise in every case although the differences were noticeably smaller than between DeepPRIME and Topaz Denoise. When comparing Topaz Denoise to On1 NoNoise on raw files I found the output from ON1 was superior and more pleasing compared to Topaz virtually all the time. ON1 states that while No Noise can be used for non raw images the quality of the output is still essentially in beta and should improve over time. On some images Topaz was closer to DeepPRIME in quality than on others but it was never anywhere as good. When comparing its raw capabilities against DeepPRIME, in my opinion DeepPRIME was superior 100% of the time. I have a license for Topaz Denoise AI 3 primarily for use on non-raw images. A query for the DxO marketing group: is DxO using similar outlets to the “review” pushed by a competitor? At the moment, DxO due to the DxO evaluation of lenses, etc, possibly has the most extensive training set. If one happens to have an image that is “close” to one in the training set, all the better. As for the fact that DeepPRIME, etc, are AI based only means one is comparing the detailed AI engine (and implementation, as all of these are AI software applications on a non-quantum non-neurosynaptic “classical” computer) and the training set upon which the AI “learned”. The fact that the ON1 application is better than what Adobe native offers, etc, is no great surprise. The review reads like an advert: (Excerpt) Where On1 NoNoise has the edge over Topaz is its ability to duplicate layers within the program, which includes blending modes, and then mask the layers using its industry-leading “Perfect Brush." (End excerpt) “Industry-leading” is a very advert statement, and certainly one with which many might take exception. I also note that DeepPRIME did not seem to have been comparison evaluated. I have read the review, and the results in terms of the ON1 application do not correspond to my experience – the application I tried (under purchased license, not “trial”) seemed far more “buggy” than that described in the article. Is a comparison review cited by ON1 in an email advert. ( Will On1's NoNoise AI Steal the Crown from Topaz DeNoise AI? Quite Possibly. Will ON1’s NoNoise AI Steal the Crown from Topaz DeNoise AI? Quite Possibly.

So at that point it's going in the game either way, it's just a matter of deciding how. The marketing department will "bid" on items they want for the cash shop or to be held back for big releases (that's his term, I don't think it's a literal auction) and then the people in charge will decide which things they get and what will be in-game rewards or included in other ways. I don't know how Anet work exactly but I suspect it's a bit like the company a friend of mine works for where the developers think up and create stuff for the game and it's relatively late in the process that the company decides how it will be added. I know Anet need to make money and they're hardly shy about selling us things, but I don't feel like it underpins every decision. Create a new character or go farm for materials needed and you get anywhere from 1 to 3 per gather, it starts to build up quick. They also converted most equipment drops to unidentified gear which served almost no purpose except to reduce the need for extra bags and therefore the chances players will buy them. If you can afford them, when the unbound gathering tools in the gem store are available or the unbound gathering glyphs on the auction house for any existing tools you may have already. I suppose legendary glyphs could reduce how much players spend on buying them, but you could say the same about legendary armour reducing the need for bank/bag space for spare sets of armour and people converting gems to gold to buy ascended crafting materials and that didn't stop Anet introducing it. And in the OP's case it would actually have made them more money, because the OP would have bought 2 more gathering tools. You'd still only get 1 glyph of the chosen type and would need to either swap it between tools or buy more if you want it on multiple tools, it just means instead of buying a tool and a glyph and leaving that sitting in the bank unused you get to choose which one you buy along with choosing which tool you buy. Another dev choice where money is the factor over actual efficiency.ĭo you mean the OP's suggestion of letting players choose which glyph they get when buying new infinite tools from the gem store, or the suggestion a few posts down for legendary glyphs?īecause I don't see how this would affect the OP's suggestion at all. If you're looking at $$$ and $$$ only, there are better ways to invest your hard earned gold.Freidon.5692" said:Unfortunately its too late for that because people buy multiple glyphs to put the effect on more than one tool. So in the end they're more of a QoL thing or a long term investment. I won't be updating prices, just fixing the math with old prices:Ġ,08*8+(34+39)*0.04 = 3.56 silver per 20' = 10.68 silver/h (what you save by not having to buy tools) All the rest you could be getting with reg ori tools so if you consider them you're super estimating your profit that way. Actual profit for those are 4 copper per node for axe and pick + 8 copper per node for plants (that's the money you're saving by not having to buy tools) + profit from VM. So you have to go to WvW/PvP to get new tools each time. A lot of those maps (maybe all of them) do not have a vendor which sells standard gathering tools. I have to say that Infinite Gathering Tools are a blessing when it comes to farming Season 3 maps. I used mounts to make my resource runs faster and I didn't use any gathering boosters. You have commit 20 minutes every day for 131 days to get your gold back. I've also farmed other maps like Mount Maelstrom and Blazeridge Stepps with very similar outcome ~5,3g per 20 minutes. I made some search on how long will it take me to get 700g back - that's the price of 2700 gems as of now. Because of the Trophy Shipents and Leather Shipments. Volatile Magic Gathering Tools are different though. I was sceptical about Infinite Gathering Tools because of their price - 1000gems per tool seemed extremely expensive to me and I would never imagine that those tools would pay back. From plugging in the mains power and connecting the Chromecast Audio to a subwoofer on a 2:1 speaker system, to setting up the app on an Android phone, it took less than 10 minutes. There’s no instruction booklet included, just three very simple setup steps on the inside of the box. Google claims it’s really easy to set up the Chromecast Audio, so I decided to time how long it took me. Chromecast Audio – Setting up and Chromecast app You can connect it to a portable speaker, soundbar, AV receiver, hi-fi system or even your TV if it has audio inputs. So what speakers does the Audio work with? Well, anything that’s got some form of amplification and an audio input. Unfortunately that’s not available yet, but it should come via a software update through the Chromecast app. The built-in Wi-Fi will also open up other features such as multiroom support, so you can use multiple Chromecast Audios dotted around in different rooms for a Sonos-style setup. There’s support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz network bands – something that was notably missing from the original Chromecast – so you should have no problem getting a connection. Streaming music from your device to the Chromecast Audio is done over Wi-Fi, ensuring you can stream high-quality audio without the usual Bluetooth issue of losing a connection because you’re too far away. Packed into the small device is an AKM AK4430 DAC (digital-to-analogue converter) that supports Hi-Res Audio up to 24-bit/96KHz. A full outline of supported cables can be found on the Chromecast Support page. You can pick up the RCA ones for a couple of pounds but it’ll be £5 or £6 for the digital cable. The 3.5mm jack socket also doubles as an S/PDIF optical output, so for high-end (or older) hi-fi systems and AV setups you have the option of an optical connection or using a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable. In the box you get an eye-catching luminous yellow 3.5mm-3.5mm stereo cable that’s 146mm long, as well as a 1.75m power cable which plugs into the Micro USB port on the Chromecast Audio and has to remain plugged in during use. For instance, a pulsing white light means you’re disconnected and a solid orange light means you’ve got some problems. When you’re all plugged in, a little notification light pops up, indicating the status of the device. On the bottom and the sides is some grey plastic where you’ll find a 3.5mm jack socket, a Micro USB charging port and a reset button. The logo on top is supposed be a Google one, but I can’t help thinking it looks like a Beats headphone ear cup… You can tell the two new Chromecasts apart from the vinyl-inspired finish, which makes the Audio look like a little chunky record, complete with tiny grooves. It’s not going to hog much space next to or on top of your speaker or amplifier. It’s small as well, athough larger than that first Chromecast, and it weighs in at a supremely light 30g. Google’s adopted the same circular design as the latest Chromecast to make it look less like a USB stick. The Chromecast Audio looks nothing like the original Chromecast and that’s a good thing to me. It costs £30, the same as the new Chromecast, and for the money you get an easy-to-set-up piece of kit that might not be an essential buy for everyone, but has the potential to be awesome with future software updates. So not only can you listen to audio from the likes of Spotify and Google Play Music, but you can also play music straight from websites such as YouTube. It’s Google’s attempt to try and do for music what it did for video with the first-generation Chromecast. The Chromecast Audio is a small music streaming device that you can plug into a speaker system or hi-fi so you can access music over Wi-Fi. Update: sadly Google announced in January 2019, they were discontinuing the Chromecast Audio, as its focus switches to the likes of Google Home and voice control. In the case of ZHA, the Zigbee Coordinator is a radio adapter or hardware module, that contains a microcontroller that runs the Zigbee protocol stack which the ZHA integration uses to manage and communicate with a Zigbee network and its devices.īefore installing the ZHA integration, you will need to buy and connect a Zigbee Coordinator radio adapter or hardware module, those usually come in the form of a USB dongle that plugs directly into the computer that is running the Home Assistant installation. Zigbee Router devices are mains-powered and will act as Zigbee signal repeaters within the Zigbee network mesh to extend its range and improve coverage, while Zigbee End Device devices are usually battery-operated sensors that will not act as Zigbee signal repeaters. It acts as a physical interface for the Zigbee wireless protocol, as well as being responsible for maintaining the Zigbee network topology and ensuring secure and efficient communication between Zigbee devices. Starship has only performed a few tests in mid-air and has yet to fly an orbital mission. The last item will be the readiness of SpaceX's Starship system. The spacesuits were at first developed in-house by the agency, but it elected to pivot to commercial providers after NASA's Office of the Inspector General warned the agency-made spacesuits were causing undue delay. Artemis 2 will last a minimum of eight days (but could extend to as long as three weeks).īeyond assessing the data collected from Artemis 1 and 2, NASA will also need to make sure its spacesuits are ready. The major goals of Artemis 2 - scheduled for 2024, if all goes well with the predecessor mission - will then be to fly four humans to the moon's orbit and back. NASA's readiness for Artemis 3 depends on three key things: the success of previous missions, its development of new spacesuits, and the availability of an unflown human landing system or HLS (SpaceX's Starship).Īrtemis 1, scheduled to fly in 2022, will assess the readiness of SLS and Orion to carry humans. The Artemis 3 launch date is set for 2025 for now, after an initial target of 2024. |
